Enclosure filtration system HEPA + activated carbon | IKEA PLATSA Build

This filtration system uses HEPA + Carbon filtration to clean the air of my printer enclosure.

It's  desinged to fit in to an IKEA PLATSA enclosure. You can also increase or decrease the hight of Filter_housing end piece to make it work with other diameters. The wall thicknes of PLATSA is 18 mm

Notice:

- I used thraded inserts, but you can go with wood screws to. Just choose the right Filter_housing

- use a high presue fan thats capable of createing underpresue in the enclosure

- The electronics to run the fan are documented here 

Parts  needed:

• Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-2000 PWM FAN 
  • If you don't use PWM controller, its better to use the 3 pin version. But it's nosiy at full speed 

• Universal Carbon filter here, you can cut out the size you need
  • replace every 3 months 

• HEPA filter here

• M4x40 screws and thread inserts OR 4x40 wood screws with flat head

Installation:

• Cut out a 142 mm by 142 mm hole in a side wall

• Prepare thread insersts M4x40 or wood screws flat head 4x 40

• Put all screws with a FAN_shims and FAN_spacer in the Fan_housing

• Hold the Filter_housing form the inside while screwing the FAN_housing part in
  • it locks it self in place 

• Insert activated_carbon_grid

• Insert a layer of carbon filter

• Insert the HEPA filter

• Close with the Filter_lid
