These hooks fit into the keyhole slots in shelf posts, letting you hang tools and other items near your working space.
Dimensions
I designed these for the “heavy duty steel shelving” that ULINE sells here: https://www.uline.com/BL_4025/Heavy-Duty-Steel-Shelving . Each keyhole slot is 1.5" apart and the posts are about 2.2mm thick. I measured each dimension using calipers and defined parameters in the source project with the recorded values. The tolerances are tight for a snug and stable fit - if you print for other shelves, the dimensions should be adjusted.
File details
- The “universal hook adapter” is designed to connect with parts from “IKEA SKADIS Collection (easy print / tight fit)”: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2853261 , such as “Skadis_Universal_R20mm.stl” and “Skadis_Universal_Fork_20_30mm.stl”.
- The “base attachment” just fits into the slots without continuing into a hook or other attachment. I used these to test my dimensions and tolerances then modeled out from the front. If you want to edit the source project, you can copy the base component to design your own parts.
Printing tips
- I printed in PETG at 100% infill for strength. Supports are needed for overhangs, and you can try a few different print orientations depending on which axis you want layers to be in and how many supports you want to deal with.
