Description

This is a two-piece clarinet stand which folds up so it can be stored in the bell of the clarinet inside the case. I feel that this is a strong print and I've used it with my clarinet, but obviously use this print at your own risk.

Note: I've added 3 versions with different tolerances for the screw thread, so you can find the right version for your printer and preferred layer height. Smaller layer heights can probably get away with smaller tolerances. Also, if the tolerance seems very tight, you could force the screw in, slowly rotating back and forth, to create a very snug and well-screwing fit.

Attribution: I was inspired by jasonemock's Clarinet stand model. I wanted to see how well my SV06 Plus could print in place, so I designed my own version of the clarinet stand.

Print instructions:

  • Material: PLA (but you could use PETG)
  • Layer height: 0.3mm (for the 0.5mm tolerance version)
  • Supports: don't use supports or the print-in-place model will not work. As the legs are very long, you might want to use brimming on the outside of the model only, but I didn't need this on my SV06 Plus.
  • Perimeters: 3 or 4
  • Infill: 20% (the print will get its strength from the perimeters)

Assembly:

For first time use, fold the legs up into the screw. Sometimes they need a bit of persuasion. The legs have been designed such than they cannot fold down too much, so don't force them down beyond roughly 20 degrees. Then fold the legs down again and screw the inner model into the outer model. Your stand is now ready for use!
To store the stand, simply screw the inner model out, fold in the legs, and screw it back into the outer model. Store inside the clarinet bell.
