Description
The outer ring of a friends telescope golf ball collector broke off.
I designed and printed a suitable spare part, so I could repair the collector.
0. Preparation
To take off the original outer ring from the telescope rod, you carefully have to drill out the holding rivet.
The rivet holding the original ring will be replaced by a M3 screw+nut in the repair solution.
Print the spare part with PETG or PC.
1. Spring assembly
[before assembling the rod]
One side of the spring is fixes to the inner rotating ring.
Push the open end of the spring through the opening until the end comes out of the rod fixation opening.
To keep the spring from slipping all the way back, you insert the two small holding parts into the holding ring on loose side of the spring.
Gently pull the spring back in until the holding parts block it in proper position.
2. Inner ring assembly
Turn the inner ring by 90°, compress it gently and assemble it to the outer ring so it can rotate freely.
When turning it 90° the spring should “snap” into the open slot of the inner ring
3. Assemble to rod
First you need to drill a 3.2mm hole in the telescope rod.
One side should be open from the rivet already, so you only need to drill through the opposite sire of the rod.
Push the outer ring on the rod and fix it with a suitable M3 + nut.
And now back on the golf course again…
