Description
I wanted a dedicated place for spools that get warmed up before its their turn while printing from another spool. It is designed around the standard Prusament spool sizes (1 kg filament).
You can get fancy with prusaslicer (see attached 3mf file), or just print it the usual way.
You screw it down on the base plate with 4 pieces of M3x8 (from your spare parts).
I also designed plugs to cover the screws and prevent debris getting into the screw heads. Print those with slicer setting: avoid crossing perimeters (Layers and perimeters - Advanced) This will make sure you wont have stringing inside the slot.
V1: screw holes and covers tested, base radius tested, works great, fits so well the nextruder might be able to pull filament from the spool rest, needs testing.
First print results: v2 needs to be more left and further to the front to prevent nextruder assembly from running into a resting spool (won't crash already if spool is placed leftmost in the base). A recess for the spool sides in the base could make sure the spool is placed leftmost as well, redesign in progress. Otherwise fits well. Might add a color change for the topmost 8 layers or so.
