Description

This is an adapter for the SASONCO Barbell Stand (see below note) to make it the right size for a 50mm barbell. The pipes they used are too large and this print helps keep the barbell straight and protects from sharp edges / rubbing against metal.

There's a top and bottom part, both are to created to help guide the barbell and keep it steady. The inner diameter is 50.8mm so that there's a little play and to prevent the barbell from grabbing onto the plastic. The inner diameter of the pipes was measured to be ~57mm (or slightly below), this piece measures 57mm so that the fitting is quite tight, lower or increase this if you have problems with it being too loose or too tight.

NOTE: I do not recommend this stand (unless you're desperate) because the craftsmanship is dodgy, the bottom plate was bent and not as thick as promised (in the product description). The powder coating also shines with its absence. But if you do buy it (because it's like the cheapest you can find), then perhaps these prints can improve your quality of life a little.

I'm considering creating small feet that clip on the edge to keep the (bent) stand from rocking from side to side. Either that, or attaching it to a piece of wood to straighten it out.

Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa
Printer: I3 MK3S
Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: 0.30 mm
Infill: 100%
Filament: Prusament PETG Prusa Orange

Notes:

Both pieces should print fine without rafts or supports, the top part should be printed upside-down.

I used 3 perimeters for the top part.

PETG and 0.30mm layer height was used for increased durability.
