Description
This is a model of an adapter for Olympus Medical Lightsources. It has a 1.5mm bore to integrate lightguides. Download and edit the .step file to modify the dimensions.
The second iteration of this adapter contains a spherical lens combined with a collimator to focus the wide emitted lightbeam into small-diameter lightguides via a SMA905 optical connector. Use M3 heat inserts to clamp down the spherical lens and connect the adapter to the collimator. Here are the components used in this configuration:
This is not an official Olympus model. I measured the connector myself and replicated it in CAD for research purposes. I strongly recommend that you do NOT use regular 3D printing filament to manufacture this adapter. I recommend using some kind of metal like Aluminium or Stainless steel, or a high-temperature polymer. Please be careful when using acrylic lightguides with the your lightsource, as they might melt.
