My wife and I enjoy cocktails from time to time, and this tray makes it easier for whoever is “bartender” for that round. You can carry empty glasses back to the kitchen with ease, and with a measured pour spout on the bottle and ice at the ready in the freezer, even prepare the drinks without ever setting them down.

This leaves one hand free to turn lights off/on, open/close doors, grab a snack on the way back to the living room, and deliver an icy cold beverage to an appreciative loved one.

(We use this around the house, but it was actually designed with a cruise/vacation in mind. One of us will go to the bar for the next round, and being able to carry both drinks in one hand makes it easier to navigate elevators, towel stations, room keys, etc.)

This tray needed to check a few boxes:

  • Flat, and relatively narrow to easily slip into a pocket when not in use
  • “Reversible” since my wife and I carry it with different hands
  • Sturdy enough, and with enough grip, that even arthritic hands don't struggle to hold a weighted tray for a couple of minutes
  • Drink cutouts sized to accommodate a variety of glasses, and also have them “ride low” in the carrier to reduce spilling when you walk with it

Printed without supports, but you can see from the last photo that doing so caused some funkiness on the bottom thumb relief. I honestly don't mind having the unintended texture there, however.

It's 10mm thick, and with a 20% infill, it's super sturdy. There's no flexing even with two full glasses.

This is the ~4th iteration, which seems silly for something this simple, but I wanted it to be as comfortable as possible in the hand, and tried different shapes, ridges, etc to get the right feel. I'd be curious to see remixes, and how someone might improve on this.
