Description
I had issues with my 18.5/22mm CPAP hose taking a chunk from my Y axis and also EBB36 once crashed into the hose bending the pins for ABL sensor. I did not want that to happen again so I figured maybe a slim bridge between bottom and top part of the 2020 extrusion would be only solution until I get new parts and install all of this in the upper section of the printer enclosure.
So, in the meantime I have to make do and here is the first iteration of the part with an filament runout sensor mount and a spot for cable ties to pass through for a better interlocking and securing the wire loom a bit better. Internal cross-section surface area is near-constant, fluctuation is just few % so there should be minimal back pressure if any.
Can be printed in PLA if you have the fans on for most of the time. Make sure you have “detect thin walls” checked in the slicer. For mounting you need two M4x10 screws and pair them with T-nuts. My filament sensor has hole spacing of 20mm and mounts with two M3x20s (can be mounted with just the bolts if you intend to keep the bolts in there as the holes are tight enough).
21.05.2024 - cleaned the piece and removed any other useless parts except the duct itself and mounting.
