Description
This is a replacement electronics bay cover with holes and a vent for a 40mm fan. The same kind used for the hotend cooler. I found my Trinamic drivers were getting too hot when running my printer in an enclosure, so this was my solution.
If you're using the same 5V 40mm fan as the one used for the hotend, you can splice in the extra fan to the same connector. Just don't attach the yellow/white tach wire. Only one fan should be connected to that signal wire (probably the hotend fan). This will turn on the electronics cooler fan when the hotend is on.
I also stuck some small heatsinks on the Trinamic drivers. You can find these labeled “Raspberry Pi heatsinks" or similar on Amazon. Just any small heatsink with adhesive.
I also shrank the size of the exhaust vents on the front closer to the fan intake, to prevent it from recirculating exhaust hot air.
When wiring your electronics, be sure to loom the wires along the sides of the electronics bay to make sure the Trinamic drivers have good air flow.
