Mystery Snail Egg Raft for your Aquarium

Exploring the capabilities of AI (ChatGPT/Gemini) for 3D design, I created this custom mystery snail egg raft. Using OpenSCAD in collaboration with AI-generated code, this model highlights a unique way to solve aquarium-related problems.

Features:

• Channels: paths for water to run back into the tank and keep the eggs dry
• Spacious Buoys: Strategically placed buoys keep the raft afloat, even with the added weight of eggs.
• Trapped Air Pocket: A rectangular hole at the base forms an air pocket, boosting buoyancy and ensuring the raft sits above the waterline.
• Safe for Your Aquarium: Made for 3D printing with aquarium-safe materials (PLA/PETG).

How to Use:

1. Customize: Modify the raft's dimensions using the provided OpenSCAD code to your needs.
2. Print: 3D print your raft using an aquarium-safe material. PLA is a suitable option, I use Sunlu PLA in all of my tanks, no mutations and or sick fish and my oldest prints are 5 years old.
   1. Printer Settings:
      1. Walls/Top/Bottum layers: 3
      2. Infill: Keep it below 20% Lightnign works too
3. Put the print into your Aquarium: Place the raft in your aquarium. The rectangular hole at the bottom will trap air, providing the raft with extra buoyancy.
4. Transfer of Eggs : Gently transfer existing snail eggs onto the raft's surface. 
5. Hatching: After a few weeks, the eggs will hatch, the baby snails will use the channels to get into the aquarium.
6. .3mf file: Note that I've modified the top of the raft for a flat surface, as this wasn't directly achievable in OpenSCAD. I made quick edits in PrusaSlicer to add channels using negative parts.

How it Came to Be:
This project demonstrates the potential for AI to generate functional 3D model designs. While human input is necessary for refining and ensuring practicality, AI can streamline the initial concepts and coding.

At the moment Gemini gave me the best user expiriance, it did really feel like a co-worker reviewing the code suggesting me thigns that I did not yet think off.
