Description
Want to add some extra dragons to your Ender 3? Well here they are! My wife wanted a dual z upgrade for her printer so I made her some custom ones and she says ‘They’re really cool!'.
You will need 2 m4x22 bolts and some additional 8mm spacers, which you may be able to print, plus longer bolts for the wheels with eccentric nuts.
If you want a skull bracket for the left side of the printer you can flip the model.
Print with enough base layers that the bottom plate section is solid, then you can get away with some infill on the skull part, it's very sturdy!
I rearranged the left-hand-side eccentric nut so that it slots into the metal plate(the x axis motor mount plate), like is on the right side of the printer. If you have a 7mm drill you can make the same modification, you can see this in the last picture. Otherwise I suppose you can just smash the eccentric nut into the back of the dragon skull bracket and be careful not to spin it too many times, it should be fine… probably! also you may have to carve it a tiny bit to get the x axis motor to fit properly but not to a noticable amount.
Both sides have enough play to slide easily up and down both lead screws after some adjustment, and I even had enough space to add some washers between the spacers and print to stop from squeezing those together. Feel free to ask me any questions if you decide to give this a go!
