Description
I'm a big fan of wooden flutes. My favorites come from High Spirits Flutes and Elemental Flutes. As I am relatively new to this instrument, I found a cool flute dryer at Horizons Flute Store.
It inspired me to create my own wooden flute dryer and publish it here!
I printed mine and use it often. It only needs a few parts; you print everything else.
Parts BOM:
Fan and screws/nuts: You can use whatever fits; I just like to use these.
Gaffer Tape: I use it to cover anywhere the flute might touch so it doesn't get scratched inadvertently. You can use whatever you are comfortable with. I also use the gaffer's tape to cover the ends where the stand connects. It tightens it up just a little bit, and then the PLA also doesn't get worn. Replace it when needed (if you plan to disassemble it often.)
Soft foam: mine was from something I ordered (free) - packing material. Use what works for you.
Power: The fan is 12 volts. But a 9 volt battery drives it very well. You could use USB power (5 volts), but you don't really get a lot of wind speed from that. When my wooden flute dryer is in my office, I use it on a variable power supply; when I travel with it, I carry a couple of 9 volt batteries.
The main body takes the longest to print (22.31 hrs on a Prusa MKS+), and everything else takes half the time or less.

The Wooden Flute Dryer is held together by friction (other than the fan bolts.)
I am planning to add the Voltage Sensor Box to the top of the fan so I can see the voltage when I am using the wooden flute dryer on the battery. (and watch the battery slowly get used up. lol)
