Prusa MINI 4 XL concept

This is a concept. No development is being done.

Take 4 Prusa MINIs and build 1 XL. Orange parts can be taken from the MINIs, including boards and displays.

Print space: 360 x 360 x 250 mm.

Frame size: 524 x 480 x 600 mm.

Single head

This is quite straightforward just some cable extensions. 1st electronic board controls all motors and 1 bed only. Other 3 beds must be heated manually (each by its own display).

Four heads

Requires change of FW and daisy chain the electronic boards. Or a plugin for Octoprint has to be created to control the 4 boards directly. Also needs head swapping mechanism.

• steel plate from XL has to be bought
• dual X(Y) motor is controlled by a single driver but it increases efficiency (more heat dissipation, more magnets used)
• quad Z motor is controlled by a single driver as well
