Description
I need to use existing 24v AC power (doorbell transformer) to supply a Blink camera needing USB A (5v). I located a AC to DC “buck converter” and had a DC to USB-A stepdown module.
I whipped up this case to house the two bare modules using some 2.1mm x 5.5mm pigtails I already had.
Not sure how much heat this is going to generate so I put some air holes.
The Buck Converter has some holes to mount so I just put standoff & posts that can be melted with a hot iron to secure it. The USB module is captured in a slot and kept in place by the post designed into the lid/cover. I soldered scrap of braided two conductor wire from the USB module to the Buck Converter screw terminals. I use some low profile M3 screws to secure the lid/cover and the box has screw ears to mount it.
Lid/Cover takes 2-4 M3x8mm screws Low Profile Socket Head
Use #6 or 3.5M flat head screws for mounting.
