Description
I adjusted Jevermeister's drill bit holder for mounting pattern in older style L-Boxx lids. It does fit the new G4 version as well, but not as universal as the original design.
Fits 5 SDS Plus dill bits per holder. 2 holders can be mounted resulting in space for 10 drill bits. Only upper or lower holder can be used on the same side at the same time as they share a mounting hole.
Thickness of 13mm should not interfere with inlays.
Print settings:
orientation: mounting hole extension up
4 perimeters
upper version requires supports (on printbed only)
Hardware:
2 Pan Head screws approx. 3,5x16 per holder
sheet metal screws (DIN 7981) work great. You can use similar Pan Head screw for plastics or wood if more readily available. If you want to mount in new L-Boxx G4 you might need screws with bigger diameter or M3 heat set insert and screw.
Notes:
When using two lower holders the maximum drill length is reduced to 240mm
When using two upper holders the maximum drill length is reduced to 220 mm
I reduced the tolerance from originally 10.4 to 10.15 mm as with my Prusa mini 10.4 mm was fitting to loosely.
While designing I didn't have access to a physical old L-Boxx, only to pictures and a new G4 version. Hence I had to leave more space than truly necessary resulting in sub perfect space efficient upper holder.
I intentionally decided against a unified lower and upper version as it would require lots of wasteful supports for printability.
