I wanted to black out the dials on my Fox 36, so I created this!
Allows for colour customisation of the HSC dial and Aircap, also tested with a Fox 38.
My print settings:
PLA (use any filament/colour you like!)
0.1mm layer height
Simple supports, manually placed on the flat bottom parts of both the dial and cap (avoid support in the Schrader Valve)
Supports painted on:
Grip2 dial:
When disassembling the original Grip2 dials, beware of the small sprung ball bearings.
Loosen the retaining bolt for the damper dials and carefully remove them.
Remove the ball bearings and springs using a small needle or nail, don't lose them!
Transplant the springs into the corresponding holes in the model.
Using a screw driver or similar pack the springs/holes with plenty of grease, this is needed to ‘stick’ the ball bearings into the holes for installation.
Insert the bearings and carefully place the LSC/HSC stack into the bike. Rotate until the dials bottom out on the damper.
Air Cap:
The printed threads will work with the air valve, beware of cross threading on first install.
Enjoy your pimped out bike!
