Description
I originally wanted a 2kg spool version of the Spannerhands spool holder.
After editing the original stls, I noticed that due to the increased dimensions the print was sagging. Therefore I rebuilt the original design, increasing stiffness with honeycomb pattern on the inside.
Can hold one 2kg Prusament spool
Every Prusament spool will fit perfectly, but here are the dimensions if you have other brands:
max spool diameter: | 205mm (210mm without sensor) |
|---|---|
max spool width: | 127mm |
axle diameter: | 50mm |
Silica-gel pouches can stay both inside the spool core, and at the bottom of the drybox. You choose.
Original files only came as STL. Since I completely remodeled them, I can provide to you a quality cad model of the full assembly, so that it's easier for you do add this to your printers installation, and perform editings too.

If you are making a windowed spool holder, you'll have to cut two of these out of plexiglass.
Any thickness between 1mm and 3mm is good. (DXF file is ready for cut)
PETG for structural parts
TPU for flex parts
To make you drybox more effective, dry your filaments at best to reduce porosity.
