Description

Thanks to cooasty for the beautiful pinwheel.
The two propellers are counter-rotating and have a nice "hypnotic" effect due to their shape. After cooasty's windmill had survived a few years and storms, I wanted to build the windmill bigger and with ball bearings. I inserted a hub with a bearing seat for a 608 ZZ ball bearing into the propeller. The propellers sit on an M8 stainless steel threaded rod. With fuselage, the threaded rod (length 122 mm) is pushed through and held in place with a nut at the back. Five different tail fins can be fitted. I first wanted to do the vertical axis with a ball bearing (it's still possible), then I used an 8 mm round steel bearing with a tip, it works perfectly. The two labyrinth rings are centered at the rear of the propellers with LabyrinthZent and glued with CA. Drill out the small holes on the propellers with 2.5 mm, then you can simply screw in an M3 screw. The vertical axis is inserted into the bottom of the fuselage, the 8 mm inner diameter must be able to rotate easily on the 8 mm rod. To do this, adjust the vertical axis with a test print with "Horizontal expansion" and "Horizontal hole expansion". The 8 mm rod must sit tight in the vertical holder, the VertikalHalter16x8 fits on a 16 mm rod / tube. VertikalHalter0Z5x8 fits a 1/2" water pipe. Tail fin Tie, heart, 120 and 130 are glued to the respective carrier with CA. For Propeller250 you need at least a 250x250 mm printer, for Propeller200 200x200 print area is enough. The 2PropOM propellers have no mouse ears.

1 threaded rod M8x93 or M8x122 with nut and self-locking nut for propeller
2x cylinder screw M4x12 with nut for tail fin
1x cylinder screw M4x20 with nut for the rear
1x stainless steel or brass rod 8x100 for vertical axis
1x stainless steel or brass rod 8x12 with tip for vertical axis

I printed all the wind turbines with PLA. I recommend brighter PLA up to 35°C air temperature. If it is warmer or if darker filament should be used, then use PETG or better ASA.
