Description
This model is part of a system I use to select Spoolman spools from RFID tags attached to spools in klipper. Klipper can then verify that the right filament is used before printing and it can update moonraker so it reports the right spool to Spoolman.
There are three programs:
This is the model that houses the NFC reader. It has been made to be printable without support, but unfortunately both parts are upside down here. Just turn them 180 degrees in the slicer before printing.
I printed it in PLA with 18% infill, 3 perimeters, 3 top & 3 bottom layers. It can be hard to slide the bottom into the top if you get an elephant foot so please calibrate that before.
The Onshape model is available here.
At first I thought I should have the tags attached to filament samples and put them into a slot in front of the reader when changing spools. That way it is easy to reuse the tag for the next spool of the same filament, but then I changed my mind and made this instead. The original model & tag holder are still part of the onshape model. It probably works, but I've never printed the whole model.
