Description
With this back case model, you can easily add a DC jack to split USB data and power supply of your Microsoft Kinect2. By doing this, you are no longer required to use the USB adapter to connect the Kinect to your computer.
To add an external power source, you need to solder two wires on the motherboard of the Kinect itself.
As shown on the picture below, the +12V need to be soldered on the pin 10 (the red wire on the picture) and the GND need to be soldered on the GND of the Kinect plug (white wire on the picture)

The Kinect need a 12V 3A power supply to work properly and need to be connected to the wall AND to your computer to turn on. If only one of those plug isn’t connected, the Kinect will not work. You also need a 3.0 USB-B cable, a 2.0 USB-B will not work.
