Description

Hello! Thank you for viewing my Wax Seal design. All rights reserved go to Dragonsteel LLC. Also huge shout out to the Coppermind community for having the high quality SVG files compiled, y'all are the best!

For printing the seals I think a resin printer would get you the highest quality, however I did not have one available so I used PLA. No matter what material you are using be sure to keep in mind the melting point of your stamp, as sealing wax melts at around 275*F-300*F (135*C-149*C).

Printing:
-For FDM printing keep seal logo face UP. Do not put it on the build plate as the heat can warp it
-I put supports everywhere, they're easy to take off and don't affect quality
-For more detailed stamps like the Windrunner & Lightweaver Stamps, I would recommend scaling them up in size or making the design in a material less likely to stick to the wax (like brass). The PLA is not the most slippery material, and the wax can get stuck in the small channels and tear the seal. For less detailed logos like the Truthwatchers and Skybreakers you can avoid this problem by prying the stamp off gently.

Printing Settings I used (could be more efficient ways, this was just my starting point)
Material: PLA
Supports: Everywhere
Infill: 15%
Mode: Detail (10mm)

Stamping the Wax:
1) Use a wax melting station & sealing wax, they can typically be found at any arts & crafts store.
2) I had the best results soaking my stamps in ice water to get the temperature down before pressing
3) Put a good amount of wax (like a quarter size) down on the paper
4) Take the Seal out of the water bath and dry it quickly with a paper towel
5) Place the seal on the hot wax & gently press down. Don’t press too hard as the wax layer would be really thin and break
6) Wait 5 minutes for the wax to completely cool down & set
7) Going clockwise, gently ease the stamp off of the wax. Take your time on this, otherwise the seal could break. (Once again, more detailed stamps either need to be scaled up or made of a more slippery material like brass to help keep the details)
8) You’re done!

If there is any improvements I can make to the models, DM me and I will make the improvements!

Big thanks to Brandon Sanderson and everyone at Dragonsteel for making such an awesome community, I love this book series so much!
