The Toughest Printable Travel Ring Box Out There

My brother wanted a ring box for his fiance to keep her new hardware safe when traveling. Looking at the other models I was less than impressed with how flimsy they appeared, so I made my own! This is a latching travel case with a beefy loop to connect a carabiner or lock for extra portability and security. It also features a replaceable ring holder and a secret compartment for an Apple AirTag!

Print Instructions

No supports needed!

Feel free to change whatever print parameters you like to suit your needs. I'd recommend at least 4 perimeters, but other than that it's up to you :)

I've printed and tested in PLA, PETG, and PC-CF, and all work just fine! Use whatever rigid filament you have.

Orientation

Center: The core of the box should be printed on its back. This will also let you get cool designs with the top and bottom patterns ;)

Cover: The cover is printed upright

Ring Holder / AirTag Cover: Printed on the flat side.. duh

Post-Processing

The box may be very tight to the cover at first. This is normal and it will loosen up by latching and unlatching the box several times. In my experience, PC-CF was just a hair stiffer than PLA and PETG, but YMMV.

Have Ideas?

Leave a comment or remix it yourself! Happy to make this better and better!

Stating The Obvious

I am not responsible for lost objects as a result of a broken box. The box is strong but always use whatever you print at your own risk.
