Description

My cat is pretty small, so the default model is basically sized for kitten collars. I had five collars so I printed five collar displays and one base. Two of the collars were ties that take up more vertical space, so I needed a 9" tall rod to get everything together into a single unit.

The f3d starting parameters (65mm display circle diameter) were designed to accommodate an ~8" collar circumference and friction-fit on a 1/2" dowel. A 75mm diameter display circle would fit a ~9" collar, a very common adult cat collar size.

You're welcome to use this model to display dog collars, but it'll work best with small collars.

Printing specs:

  • PLA
  • 0.4 nozzle
  • 0.2 layer height
  • No supports
  • 3 walls
  • 15% cubic infill

Non-printed materials: a stick, maybe some glue to supplement the friction fit.

To adjust the sizes in Fusion 360 (free for personal use), open the f3d file and go into Solid > Modify > Change Parameters
Please note that the dimensions are in millimeters even though I keep mentioning inches.

Here are the parameters most relevant to resizing for your needs:

Collar Display parameters:

  • Outer: Overall diameter of the collar display (circumference of a circle = π x diameter)
  • Inner: Interior diameter of circle
  • Bar: Width of the crossbar spanning interior of display circle (needs to be wider than the diameter of your rod)
  • Thick: Overall thickness/height of the collar display circle
  • Rod: Diameter of the rod you're using

Collar Display Stand parameters:

  • Radius: Radius of the base of the display
  • Height: Height of the base
  • Rod: Diameter of the rod you're using

There's two versions of the stand: a slimmer model and a bulkier model. The overall height/width/hole dimensions are the same between the two. Just use what you prefer.
