Ableton Push 2 USB-C Adapter

This is an adapter for the Ableton Push 2 in order to use it with the nowadays standard USB-C connector. The adapter consist of one DC jack and USB-B male connectors in order to connect to the Push 2, and two USB-C female connectors, one for data, to be connected to the computer, and one for power, to be connected to a Power Delivery compliant power supply or wall adapter.

This is only the adapter case, to complete the project you'll need:

• USB-B male connector
• DC jack male connector - 5.5mm outer diameter x 2.5mm inner diameter
• USB-C breakout board
• USB-C PD decoy board at 12V (rated for at least 1.25A)
• Wires and basic soldering skills

All of these components can be easly found on Aliexpress for cheap. As for the PD decoy board I used a cheap one based on the LP2721 integrated circuit, that can be found by searching for PDC004-PD boards. Remember to use a 12V one, that's important.

In order to fit the connectors inside the case I had to trim excess metal at the end of the connectors. I fixed the connectors and boards in place with plenty of epoxy glue and soldered the connectors to the relative boards. I suggest using thick wires for the DC jack.

Here you can see the pinout of a standard USB-B male connector but remember to always double check! You just need to solder the signals to the relative one present of the USB-C breakout board. Keep in mind that this image shows the connector from the front, while you solder wires in the back.

Be extremely carefull when wiring all together, inverting the polarity of the voltage can damage your device, but if you know what you're doing this is a very cheap and easy project to complete.
