Description
My Wife wanted to buy those Donut weights from a content Creator, but they were out of Stock, so I made her even heavier ones. Also iterated on the design.
If you use one of those fancy build plates with a pattern make sure to get a good adheasion with a bed Temp of 65-80°C with Pla. (Don't use Gluesstick if you want to have the pattern). On Picture 2 you can see such an effect on the underside.
I also have a holder for these for the Ikea Skadis System you can find it here !
Design 1:
Flatter and easier to work around.
To get to the 160g of weight you need about 145g of small 2-3mm Lead-balls. Steel also works.
For example these or similar ones.
You could also use small steel balls or else. I don't recommend sand, as a lot of it gets blown out if you don't turn off the fan at the bridging Layer.
Dimensions: 60 x 60mm at 20mm high
Print settings:
4 Walls and Pause at layer : (0.2mm layer heights) 83 or at 16.6mm
Use a Funnel to fill the fillmaterial inside.
Material: Pla and Petg works Fine, Abs or Asa should also work.
Design 2 (Old):
Taller and potential more heavy, but not as easy to work around
Dimensions: 50 x 50mm x 42mm high
Print settings:
4 Walls and Pause at layer : (0.2mm layer heights) 198 or 39.6mm
These Fill up and can be around 200g heavy with Lead-balls or pellets. Steel also works.
For example these or similar ones .
Material: Pla and Petg works Fine, Abs or Asa should also work.
As always Happy Printing and I would love to see your's and also get a Rating!
