Description
Pin-type Sunfinder for Lunt Solar Telescopes
I recently acquired a Lunt LS50THa hydrogen alpha telescope with a B600 diagonal blocking filter, and decided not to spend the $45 on the stock sunfinder, knowing it was actually less than $1 worth of injection-molded plastic. I also wasn't happy with the other sunfinders I saw available online, so I set out to design and create my own. I started with accuracy, durability, and the ability to look away from the sun as my design criteria. The pin points to the sun and has no shadow when properly aligned. The cup protects the pin.
Operation is simple - adjust your scope until the shadow of the pin disappears.
