Description

I have both and Ender 3 Pro and and Ender 5 and none of the Hemera mounts were too my liking. I wanted to minimize dimensional loss as well with this larger/bulkier extruder. I also wanted a sturdy BLTouch mount and the aluminum one that came with my BLTouches from Creality was optimal. So I designed this. It fits both the carriage for the Ender 5 and Ender 3.

The limit switch trigger is only needed for the Ender 5, for the 3 (or CR-10) use the cover without the trigger.

Uses all stock bolts/screws + the following

  • 1 3Mx6 screw to attach Hemera to the extruder clip that slides into the carriage
  • 5 3Mx10: 3 screws to attach Hemera to the full mount and 2 to attach cover or limit switch trigger

1 zip-tie Order of assembly:

  1. Attach carriage mount to carriage
  2. Attach BLTouch mount (or whatever probe/sensor mount you have that fits in the provided space)
  3. Attach Hemera to extruder clip with single screw
  4. Slide clip + Hemera onto mount, placing all wires EXCEPT the thermistor in the channel, the thermistor goes behind the stepper motor
  5. Secure other 3 screws for hemera (one that goes through the clip and carriage mount may be tricky to line up, be VERY careful not to break the delicate mounting point on the Hemera itself, I did the first time I installed this)
  6. Screw on cover or trigger limit switch
  7. Zip-tie cable management
  8. Attach whatever fan and cooling shroud you want to the front of the Hemera
  9. Adjust for new nozzle position
    • Ender 3: Adjust the position of your Y-endstop, I took 10mm off in my slicer settings
    • Ender 5: Take 10mm off Y axis in slicer

Ender 3: 5015 blower used, no worry of dimensional loss

  • Ender 5: Stock fan to minimize Y-Axis loss
