Description
The is a rugged box case for the Yamaha SEQTRAK. The little groove box has a very long shape so I had to do a lot of work and prototypes to finally settle on a strong seam that is sealed so you can get this folding case design. The SEQTRAK is so light and seemingly fragile that I felt it needed something rugged to protect it.
To keep it from moving around it's a bit of a tight seal into the bottom half so you have to carefully orient it to go fully in and pull it out. Then the top halves have the soft beams to safely keep it in place. The strong hinge design I based this on can sometimes make it difficult to close, but I needed it to give room for the middle seal's screws and I felt it gave better freedom to fit over the top of the SEQTRAK when closing.
The case is two halves and to match the look of the SEQTRAK I think it looks good to use two colors like I did here. This is Polymaker Polylite Orange PLA PRO and eSun PLA PRO Gray. Neither match the colors, but close enough for me.
You don't need any supports when printing.
PLA is probably easiest and plenty strong. If you want you can use something even stronger than PLA or more UV resistant like ABS or PETG.
You'll need:
You might need a ball headed hex wrench for the middle screws. For whatever reason I swapped which side was the screw and which side was the nut, but no need to match me.
