Description
This is a model for Shutter Shades. I like to print these and give them out at events.
Note there is only one model for the arm. You will need to duplicate it and mirror it in the slicer for the second arm. The Arms can be printed on the large flat side but if your layer adhesion is weak the holes can break. I prefer to print the arms on the top thin edge, using a small amount of support for the bit hanging out, this makes the arms stronger. See the included Gcode for how I print them. The shades themselves are simple and print on their face with no support.
The arms attach using rivets. I use a small length of filament through the hole. I use a soldering iron to form the heads of the rivets. For more information on Rivets see my Rivet Cutter Tool.
People ask me if you can see through these glasses. The answer is mostly, I can see about 90% as well as normal. However some people with impaired vision may have a tougher time. Use your own judgement concerning your visibility.
