Hella UP 5.0 Vacuum Pump Bracket

The Hella UP5.0 vacuum pump is a universal vacuum pump that can be used to create or enhance brake vacuum in cars that either do not create engine vacuum like DIY electric vehicles or for hot rod or tuning applications.

In order to mount the pump properly, this 3D printed bracket can be used. The three different versions are explained below to cover most applications.

Versions

“Stripped with Mounting Holes” - This version is a universal bracket that can be mounted either directly to the chassis or to a custom plate. It features a 5mm hole with a 15.5mm counterbore, which fits an M5 screw with a 3D washer. The holes are located on a 44x25.5mm rectangle.

“Stripped without Mounting Holes” - This version does not feature the aforementioned mounting holes and is inteded for more individual customization. You can modify the model files for your specific application.

“Volvo V70 I” - This version fits on a Volvo V70 I with petrol engine where the ignition coil sits. I used this model for the EV conversion of my 1998 V70. Not all P80 Volvos might have these mounting holes.

Additional Hardware

• 2x M6x60 Screws to mount the pump
• 2x M6 Nuts (Nylocks are recommended)
• 6x 18x6mm Washers
• Optionally: 4x M5 Screws with 4x 15x5mm Washers

Print Settings

• Use a temperature resistant filament like ABS, ASA, PA, PC(CF), …
• A good layer adhesion is very important to assure that the weight of the pump won't break the bracket on high shock loads.

Compatible Pumps

• Mercedes-Benz A000 430 14 00/001 
• Some GM pumps seem to have a muffler on the exhaust of the pump that interferes with the bracket.
