Village Belfry for Model Railway and Scenery (H0)

Building in H0 scale for (not only) model railway & scenery fans. Inspired by the common belfries you can find across the Central Europe (historical, ruined during communism, then partly renewed).

Model is ready to be 3D printed on single extrusion printers and assembled without the glue (but you can use it at last). Windows and main door are made of one-layered transparent back and the frame in the front (both inserted into the groove).

Print instructions

Before you start:
• Use well calibrated 3D printer as the parts are small and tolerances tight to snap fit.
• If you get lost, look at the scheme of assembly again.
• I prefer quality PLA from Fillamentum for this model, but any low shrinkage material (CPE, PETG?) should work.

3D printing:
• Please, print all of the STLs once, only the window (glass & frame) print twice.
• Proper recommended colours are noted in the file names.
• All parts are designed for 0.2mm layers, only the mentioned main STL ("Masonry-white.stl") and both roofs can be printed with thinner layers (0.15mm is good enough).
• Optional: All of the models are ready to be printed without supports, only the "Masonry-white.stl" can be printed with supported arches and lintels for cleaner result. → Use as little supports as possible! (Nobody wants to clean up such a small model. 😉)

Assembly:
• I didn't have to grind or cut anything on the verification prototype, I just broke off and cleaned up the temporary supports. However, if your 3D printer/print profile is not very accurate and you encounter groove too tight, use a small file and/or a modeling knife.
• Please, be patient. The assembly phase is very straightforward, but some steps (like to insert a window frame together with glass) need to be precise.
