Description

This is a collection of magnetic attachments for a hydration pack tube, to easily secure it on your backpack.

I have a Osprey hydration reservoir that comes with a hose magnet kit, however, the part you put on the backpack is designed to go on a slim strap, which doesn't fit where I want on my new Deuter backpack, plus mine is already in use on another backpack I have. So, I designed a part that clips onto the straps ‘rail’ instead. And went on to do another couple of attachment designs.

  • Tube attachment:
    • Fits any 10mm tube. I slid it on the tube, so I removed the hose end first. Even though it's open on one side, which gives it some flexibility and makes it easier to slip on, it's not enough to just clip it on the tube.
    • Printed on its side, with no supports, in 0.1mm layers
  • “Rail” attachment:
    • Design to fit a Ø 3.6mm rail on a backpack strap (mine is a Deuter backpack). I recommend sliding the back in first, then pushing on the front face to clip it to the rail.
    • Printed on the magnet side, support on base plate only (for the magnet cavity), in 0.1mm layers
  • Clip on attachment:
    • Designed for a max 22mm strap or any piece of clothing.
    • Printed on its side, with no supports, in 0.1mm layers
  • Strap attachment
    • Designed for a max 18mm strap (similar to the Osprey magnetic kit)
    • Printed magnet cavity upwards, with support on base plate only, in 0.1mm layers.

I've designed all of these for an 8x3mm magnet, just press fitted (though a bit of glue doesn't hurt, to be safe).
