Description

It's a medium sized clothespin, but as a single minimalistic part and print-in-place. It uses ‘snake-bite' style teeth to hold material together because it doesn't have any extra force pushing the clamp closed.

The force is a little less then you'd get from a clothespin with a metal spring inside (or at least one that has a separate part to tension it,) but it's sufficient for most clothespin usages. Use it when you don't have enough clamps lying around for sewing, to close chip bags and much more. Or use it as a case study for your own clothespin designs!

How to print

  • For 0.6 nozzle: use 2 perimeters
  • For 0.4 nozzle: use 3 perimeters
  • DO NOT use any top or bottom layers
  • DO NOT use any infill
    • This parts gains it's strength and springiness from the perimeters alone!
  • PETG has been tested and works great!
    • PLA also works fine; but might be less durable due to being more brittle.

Need a much tinier clothespin and it's OK if it has less clamping force?
