Solar finder for camera hot shoe

Solar finder for camera hot shoe. Get ready for the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse!

This simple device can help you align your camera (with appropriate solar filter) towards the sun. Fits snugly into camera hot shoes on top of most DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

The main solar finder body should be printed vertically with the crosshairs and hot shoe features on the build plate. You won't need supports as it is tapered towards the top where the light hole is.  You can cut a piece of paper using the 43mm cutting template using a razor knife and the paper will fit in between the body and cap. I found that thinner paper works better - parchment paper works perfectly.

I added some different tolerance caps for different fits as the nominal may be too tight or loose for your printer/settings/material.
