Description

This design contains components for construction of a modular, low profile, Anderson PowerPole distribution box. Single and double sided versions are included.  Individual circuits can be fused or not fused, as desired.   Arrangement of powerpole & fuse is variable, they can be side by side or front/back (on double sided version) as desired.  Sample 4 & 6 position per side models included.  Fusion 360 source can be used to construct user specified positions per side.

The components used in assembly are housing, lid and modules.  Modules are placed in any slot and can be fuse, powerpole or blank.  An additional component is the seperator.  It can be used to help isolate +/- buss bars or wiring, if desired.

The housing component has two variations, single and double.  Single has all module openings on one side.  Double has module openings on front and back sides.  Lid and seperator versions are specific for each variation.   Sample STL's are provided for 6 slots and 4 slots of each variation.

During assembly, modules are fitted to the slots in the housing.  After all modules are wired and in place, the  slip fit lid component will secure them in place.  This can be glued if desired once funtionality is ensured.

The powerpole module is designed for a “snap-fit” of a powerpole pair.  Slide in the black shell from the back & seat it on the ridge in the opening, follow with the red shell, fitting into the black shell slot and press forward until seated on the ridge in the opening. Insert wired contacts prior to assembly in the housing slots.

The fuse module openings allow for insertion of a pair of 6.3mm (¼") female spade quick connects. Crimp appropriate wiring before insertion in the module.  Once installed they allow use of standard automotive fuses (those aprx.  19mm or ¾" across).

Blank modules are just that, blank. They have the same dimensions as the other modules. They are to be used as fillers if there are positions that are not needed.

I recommend using flexible, finely stranded, wire with silicone insulation for ease of assembly.

----------------------

Fusion 360 source is provided.  It can be used for constructing housing/lid/seperator components for both single and double formats using the “circuit_n”  property to specify the number of module openings to a side.   Housing, lid and seperator components will be sized appropriately for the specified number of module positions.

UPDATE:

I added a new version of the Fusion 360 source code for the modular Anderson PowerPole distribution box.  A “high density” version can be found here: https://www.printables.com/model/835926-high-density-anderson-powerpole-distribution

It permits stacking of multiple modules, to create a grid.  Sample STL's are provided for single & double sided versions of 4x2, 4x3, 4x4, 6x2, 6x3 and 6x4 distribution boxes.  The designations refer to “slot count”X"stack count".
