Description
Overview:
I wanted to make a stand for my new speakers and decided on a tripod style with wooden dowels for the legs. These have a mid-century modern look to them and are very sturdy. These are incredibly easy and cheap to build, taking only about an hour. when all materials are available and printed.
For the models:
I printed the tripod mount with 3 walls and a 15% gyroid infill. I used a brim for extra adhesion on the corners, which is optional.
The hole template can be done by whatever prints fastest. It is simply a tool to line up the screw holes on the top piece of board to the 3D print.
Materials Needed:
1x - Wooden Tripod Mount print
1x - Hole Template print (to line up the holes between the wood top and holes on the mount)
3x - 1-inch diameter wooden dowels (cut to whatever length you want - The tall stands are at 35 inches.
4x - Wood screws, mine were about 1-1.5 inch
Wood stain (your choice, I used a darker finish)
Assembly:
Other Notes:
The angles of the mount holes are such that when placed at a height of 35 inches, the center axis of the wooden dowels lies on an 18-inch diameter circle. The ones that I made are at that height. The shorter you make the legs, the smaller the diameter they will lie on. (see the picture with the plant stand)
