Astrozap C9.5 Dew Shield Slot Covers

Astrozap makes a series of Aluminum Dew Shields compatible with Celestron SCT and RASA Telescopes.  Because these telescopes can mount a camera to the top of the telescope, the dew shields have slots cut out to allow cables connected to the camera to run down to the computer and other electronics.

With an SCT, these slots are only really useful if your using the fastar (Starizona HyperStar) lens but with a RASA you will always use them as that is the only location to mount a camera. 

Even when using the scopes in this way, you still might only need one of the three cable slots provided, so blocking out unused slots is not a bad idea.

One of the benefits of a dew shield is to block stray light, and since I am using my SCT the traditional way (camera at the bottom), I wanted to block out the slots in the dew shield for the cables to keep out the stray light.

These slot covers are rather simple to print and install.  I designed them as two halves that fit together that you simply glue together.  Once dry you just slide the cover into the slot and it sits snug in place.  They are easy to remove if you do end up needed to run cables through the slots at some point.
