Description
I have a Litelok X3 for my motorcycle. When riding, I put it in my BMW vario top box but it rattles around and smashes about whenever I go over speed humps. So I wanted something that would let me strap it in place in the top box. I looked about and there wasn't anything ideal I could find that was low profile and simple.
It comprises two parts: a TPU strap ("flex strap" by @Voyajer) and a base to support the Litelok X3 padlock through which the strap is threaded. The size of the base was chosen so it would just about fit a 3M GoPro sticky pad - I had to trim it down a little; if you want you could adjust the .stl to make it slightly wider to avoid the need for that. I thought about recessing the sticker into the base but the added height was useful. I've printed out three as the Litelok is a good 2kg and I wanted to spread the load.
I printed Voyajer's strap in TPU at 50% so it's sturdy. I had Overture TPU and it came out fine. It's the perfect length too - you could shorten it by 1 or 2 cm but that would give you less of a grip when lashing it.
The base was printed with prusament PETG and 30% infill. The gap for the strap to go through is 2mm. Voyajer's strap is only 1.5cm across but I think it'll do the job without being widened; time will tell!
