Description
I lowered my Martin guitar strings to about .068” above the fret as measured on the high E-string at the 12th fret. Low E-string was around .078”. It has a good playable tone without buzz. Sounds about as good as the bone saddle, so I will just use it as is. I have attached (3) different STL files which have the following different finished mid-heights: .238”, .248”, and .258”. I used the .238” saddle for my Martin. I printed at .10mm in Detail and very slow at 20mm/s perimeter and 8 mm/s at the small radius. You can maybe modify (sand) this as a permanent part to work on your guitar or use it as a template to modify a purchased saddle in other materials like bone. It is a fully compensated design to adjust for differences at the higher frets. Designed in SolidWorks and printed on Prusa i3Mk3+.
