Cyclon for CNC

I designed this cyclone to separate as much dust as possible from a milling machine before blowing it into a vacuum cleaner bag. It screws onto an airtight can with a removable lid. The conical body is made of PETG, the other parts of ABS, so they can be glued together well. The top part is split in two to allow printing with as little support material as possible.

The input hose has an outer diameter of 23 mm and previously served as a waste water hose on a washing machine. The milling head adapter is described here: https://www.printables.com/de/model/824837-cnc3018-pro-dust-deduction.
On the output side, a 41 mm diameter hose is plugged in to the turbine with a dust bag.

The collection performance is amazingly good, only the finest dust reaches the turbine and the vacuum bag, which is still quite empty after many hours of wood milling. No dust deposits can be seen in the enclosed CNC room.

Diesen Zyklon habe ich konstruiert, um möglichst viel Staub von einer Fräsmaschine abzuscheiden, bevor er in einen Staubsaugerbeutel geblasen wird. Er wird auf eine luftdichte Dose mit abnehmbaren Deckel geschraubt. Der konische Körper ist aus PETG, die anderen Teile aus ABS, damit diese gut zusammengeleimt werden können. Der obere Teil ist zweigeteilt, damit mit möglichst wenig Stützmaterial gedruckt werden braucht.

Der Eingangsschlauch hat einen Außendurchmesser von 23 mm und diente vorher als Abwasserschlauch an einer Waschmaschine. Der Fräskopfadapter ist hier beschrieben:  https://www.printables.com/de/model/824837-cnc3018-pro-dust-deduction.
Ausgangsseitig wird ein Schlauch mit 41 mm Durchmesser eingesteckt zur Turbine mit Staubsaugerbeutel geführt.

Die Abscheideleistung ist erstaunlich gut, nur feinster Staub erreicht die Turbine und den Staubsaugerbeutel, welcher nach vielen Stunden Holzfräsen noch ziemlich leer ist. Im abgeschlossenen CNC-Raum sind keine Staubablagerungen zu erkennen.
