Secure Mount for Fatboy Edison Table Lamp

The Fatboy Edison is a beautiful, rechargeable table lamp not particularly suited for use on a moving surface.

We were given ours by some dear friends and wanted to use it in our campervan.   This mount hopefully respects the design, while allowing a secure mounting while underway and the ability to simply remove it from its mount for use anywhere while at rest.   It allows the lamp to be safely used in a camper, on a boat or any other moving vehicle.

The base is a simple saucer with enough tolerance to allow the charging cord to be attached while underway.    

The hole in the base is to enable the cord to connect concealed if a hole in the benchtop can be tolerated.  (I am about to complete the fitout of the van and will do so shortly.)

2mm elastic stretched across the base secured with knots pulled into countersunk holes in the underside, creates a firm hold, yet make it easy to relocate the lamp as required.

Printed in PLA with standard PrusaSlicer .2mm QUALITY settings.  If this is to be placed in direct sunlight or subject to significant heat, consider using PETG.

After a 6,000km “shakedown” test, the lamp and the base performed flawlessly.
