Description

I upgraded my Creality K1 Max to a Manta M5P (check out my M5P mount here) and switched the screen to a BTT HDMI 5. I created this mount because there wasn't any out there. The .3mf has OrcaSlicer settings for a K1 Max.

Features

  • No heat inserts needed
  • Leaves the minimum amount of clearance needed for the door to clear the screen.
  • Maintains the aesthetic of the K1 Max exterior.
  • The clips that hold the front plate onto the back are printable without supports and are sturdier than most others.
  • The “flip screen” and volume buttons are easy to reach.
  • All ports are available.

BOM

  • BTT HDMI 5 screen - https://amzn.to/4aekQni
  • This model
  • 90 degree Micro HDMI Cable- I used this one even though the HDMI 5 comes with one. The micro HDMI adapter is too long for the bottom of the K1 Max. https://amzn.to/3TEbUAD
  • 4 ea. M3x8 screws

Recommended print settings:

  • PETG/ASA/ABS or better
  • 0.12-0.16 layer height
  • 0.5 or 0.6 width
  • 4 walls
  • 1 mm top and bottom
  • 5 second layer time
  • supports are only needed on the adapter for the 2 hooks.

Instructions

  1. Print the model.
  2. Plug the Micro HDMI and USB cables into the M5P.
  3. Screw the screen onto the back plate with 4 ea. M3x8 screws from the outside of the plate into the screen.
  4. Clip the front plate onto the back plate.
  5. Slide the adapter onto the back plate using the dove tails.
  6. Align the hooks of the adapter to the old screen slots on the top end, then slide it down.
  7. Plug the USB and HDMI cables in to the screen.
  8. Please leave a make/like/rating if you enjoyed my design or comment for any welcome improvements.

Thanks to @henlor for his K1 CAD model, I was able to extract the correct dimensions, saving me tons of time.

Happy printing!
