Sitting Girl Statue Phone Stand

If you want a ridiculously over-designed (over-artisted?) solution for holding your phone, this i the model for you! :) My goal was for it to not really look like a phone stand when it wasn't in use. I also didn't want the model's face to be covered when holding a phone so this is the design I came up with. There is a cutout for a charging cable (generously sized), so if the stand is set on something it can accessed. I rarely charge my phone where I'm using this stand, but in the event I do need to, I plan on just hanging the front edge off of the edge of my desk to access the port. I might design a box or riser for it that would allow a USB cable to be routed under it at some point, if the need arises for me.

You may want something under it so it doesn't slide around, depending on what it's sitting on. I glued some rubber shelf liner on the underside and it works great and doesn't slide at all and is quite stable.

As sized in the STL, it should be able to hold a phone or small tablet (as intended, supported by her knees) up to about 7 inches tall. It fits my 6.75 inch tall LG V60 perfectly, and also works for the smaller, 6 inch tall LG G7 (pictured in the photos). Any larger than 7 inches and it will be resting on her chest instead of knees.

Speaking of size, this is a very tall model overall (~244 mm) and you will need at least a medium or “standard” sized printer to print it as-is. I was just able to print it on my Ender 3 v2 which has a 250 mm build height max. It could be scaled down for a smaller printer as long as your phone wasn't too large, though.

I specifically designed this so it could be printed without supports, but it does have some steep overhangs on her legs and chin so if printing larger layers than the 0.12 mm I did, you may need to add supports depending on the cooling performance of your printer. But for me (at 0.12 mm), it printed quite cleanly on my stock Ender and I had to do very little post processing, so it's definitely very doable to print without supports.

I did a 8% infill with Cura's “line” style since there are a lot of internal overhangs. You might be able to get away with less if you're a slicing wizard or have really good part cooling.

Print time for me was about 18 hours (PLA, 0.12 mm layer height, 3 walls, 8% infill, 85 mm print speed). This could be improved depending on your printer's capabilities, but since it's so tall, quality issues can arise. For instance, I have pretty bad ringing on my print (you can see it in some of the photos). Just something to watch out for, depending on your printer.

Definitely not a quick little print for a newbie, but if you have your printer setting dialed in and want a unique phone stand, give it a go! :)
