Description
All these parts are very easy to print with a 0.4 mm nozzle.
I used PLA exlusively for the modifications shown in the pictures. More specifically:
The pickguard consists of two layers that are glued together. Both are intended to be printed with 0.2 mm layer height. For creating a more interesting look, I sliced the bottom model without top layers. Consequently, you see directly onto the infill. I selected the gyroid infill and played with the density until I was satisfied.
To get a different effect, simply play around with the infill types and density levels and see what suits you best.
I did not include any files for the knobs as I simply used the great ones provided by Zwackelmann (https://www.printables.com/model/278747-les-paul-poti-knob-v1). I embossed some letters for my specific use case, but all credits go to Zwackelmann so make sure to check out his work.
What I did do additionally was to print rings that can be glued to the base of the knobs which allowed me to integrate a different material/filament to complement the design of the pickguard. These “deco rings” are also in the downloadable files and super easy to print.
There are two designs available for this knob:
The pickup covers are designed to fit the archtop body.
Print at 0.12 mm layer height.
Cavity Covers (Back of the Body)
Print at 0.2 mm layer height.
