Description

Maximize your growing space with your Rise Garden. Each Rise Garden tray can reasonably fit 4 mature plants. This tray lid is designed to have good spacing for 4 mature plants while having slots for 4 starts. When you are ready to remove your mature plants, you can have starts that are already several weeks along and ready to replace them. Additionally, reduce algae growth as this tray lid has fewer gaps for light to pass through to the water tank. For the Rise Personal Garden, there is also a replacement service door that reduces the gaps for light to pass through.

You could use this optimized tray lid in many ways, but here is how I use it. New plants spend about 1 week in the nursery, then move to the starts slots on the left, after 1-2 weeks in the starts slot they move to the more spaced out slots on the right or to my 3-tier Rise Garden.

Compatibility:  All Rise Gardens

Printing Instructions

I recommend printing with PETG.

The tray lid is quite large and is just a tiny bit too large for the build volume of the Prusa XL. I have designed a version that prints in two pieces where the extension piece is inserted during the print of the main tray. There is also a one-piece version if you have a large enough printer.

Printing on Prusa XL
  • You must print the extension first

  • In my pre-sliced gcode files for the Prusa XL there is a pause at Z height 1.32mm where you insert the extension before resuming printing.

    • For best results I recommend using binder clips to hold down the extension, otherwise it might lift up a bit.
