Additional Materials

In addition the printed enclosure, you will need the following components to complete the project. I've include some affiliate links below to what I used, but feel free to source them from wherever works best for you.

• Raspberry Pi 2040 zero
• 6 MX Cherry Style Key Switches
• 6 DSA Keycaps
• ssd1306 OLED display
• 4 M3 x 10mm Hex Socket Head Cap Screws
• 4 M3 x 3 x 4mm Heat Set Inserts 
• some hot glue for fixing rp2040 and ssd1306

Firmware:

The XIAO will need to be flashed with CircuitPython. There is a special version of the firmware that is designed for use with keyboards. It's a stripped down version that helps with the memory management on the XIAO's limited resources. You can find it at https://circuitpython.org/board/seeeduino_xiao_kb/. Instructions for flashing can be found at https://wiki.seeedstudio.com/Seeeduino-XIAO-CircuitPython/

After flashing XIAO just copy content of software zip file. You can change the code to add the keys you need, relying on the KMK documentation.

There are no limits on the number of layers.

The active layer is displayed on the screen.

Predefined layers are:

• VS Code (F5, ⌘ F10, F11, ⇧ F11, ⌘⇧ F5, ⇧ F5 )
• pyCharm (⌘ R, F8, F7, ⇧ F8, ⌘ R, ⌘ F2 )
• Safari()
• pyCharm for Windows()
• nums (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Print Settings:

Walls count: 4

Infill: 5% or more (you can add weights to the cavities at the bottom of the case)

Material: PETG, PLA, ABS
