Description
If re-purposing soft cheese tubs as storage (basically free as designed to be thrown in recycling waste,) this slide-over lid offers an alternative to the various push-on lids which come with them, as they can be flimsy and don't always stay on tightly.
Designed to fit rectangular polypropylene tubs with top dimensions of about 117.5 mm x 82.5 mm, with a top rim of 1mm thickness. This type of packaging is common in UK supermarkets, but not sure about other countries.
I would have liked them to have rims to be more easily stackable, but it would have involved overhangs and support material, and these were meant to be as simple and unfussy as possible.
Before re-using these tubs, make sure to peel away all the foil seal when cleaning, as keeping bits on may interfere with the fit.
There are two models which are almost identical, but some of the dimensions are adjusted to print with a more reliable fit using:
I've printed these in PLA and PETG so far, and either seems fine.
Printing with clear filaments help for the box contents to have some visibility. They also make for a mesmerising cross-hatched finish with the standard linear infill.
Best use a smooth print surface if you want to add sticky labels to the lids.
