Description
Losing 2 feet on my MK3.9 led me to try several of the models on printables and find them lacking in one way or another.
This simple model gives you a lot of “Tunability” by just varying the infill %. It twist locks in and stays in place. The default size is “Snug” which I like. There is a technique using the rounded edge to insert it easily, but if it frustrates you you can scale it down a little in the Z (model on bed orientation) and it will slide in easily.
Here are the settings I have used:
“Soft” with 5% Gyroid infill, 3 walls, 0.2 layer height. Nice and soft dampens vibrations, but on faster Input shaping moves a little too soft for my liking.
“Medium” 10% Gyroid infill, 4 walls, 0.2 layer height. Perfect for me. I use a rubber paver under these.
“Medium Hard” 15% Gyroid Infill, 4 Walls, 0.2 layer height. For those on very Hard surfaces/Pavers who need more rigidity.
“Solid” 100% infill… For those who want max rigidity.
In the pictures they are printed in Priline's TPU (aka Safety Orange). Not a perfect match for Prusa Orange, but close..
