Description
EDIT: Added cut out so the sides of the cover are less visible in the camera
I got fed up with the camera getting wet, giving false notifications, Â misting up and the general poor performance in inclement weather.
This rain cover should help to negate the mentioned issues.
I printed this in PETG on a Creality K1max PETG or ASA recommended as these are the best filaments for exposure outside.
The model includes a short sides and short protrusion roof version as well as a full coverage extended version both have included models with holes and without for wire passthrough if needed.
Print settings:
Layer height: 0.2mm (adaptive layers turned on)
Walls: 3
Infill: 15% Gyroid
Speed: Â infill/support 200mm/s , outer wall/top/bottom 140mm/s , inner wall 160mm/s , travel 500mm/s
Support: normal touching build plate 15% zigzag
Build plate: smooth PEI sheet with glue stick and no brims needed
Assembly:
On the rear of the rain cover where the support attaches may need smoothing to fit nicely I used a small needle file to smooth the corner of the protrusion.
The camera bracket should press into the front side of the rain cover and stay put if you need to remove this for any reason a small screwdriver or the included pin tool to lever it out if used through the hole at the bottom.
If you are using the angled spacer this should also press into place firmly.
The follow the instructions to mount the doorbell to the door frame or remount with standard screws if removed to install the rain cover.
Snap the camera into place as normal.
Removal of the camera for charging or maintenance is the same as normal.
